One of Scotland’s most recognised and accomplished fiddle players and composers; Duncan Chisholm presents music from his new album, Sandwood.

This concert will present Duncan’s musical interpretation of what is believed to be one of the earliest inhabited areas of what came to be known as Scotland.  Duncan brings new music to Egerton, inspired by the bay which rightfully lays claim to hold the finest yet least accessible beach in Scotland, Sandwood is a natural masterpiece, a true paradise that sits within a basin of peatlands waiting to be discovered by those willing to trek wild.

Duncan’s assembly of musical masterminds bring cinematic sound and colour to this new music.  Accompanied on stage by Megan Henderson on fiddle / piano, Ali Hutton on guitar and Conal McDonagh on uilleann pipes / whistles.  These musicians individually represent some of the finest talents on the traditional music scene and collectively, with Duncan, present the new sound of traditional Scotland.
